A Win for Pakistan! Our Scientist Wins a Major International Research Award

A Pakistani scientist has made the nation proud on the international stage! Dr. Sharmeen Fayyaz, a Research Officer at the National Institute of Virology, University of Karachi, has been honored with the Best Young Researcher Award at the prestigious Kazan Global Youth Summit 2025.

The award was presented by Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of the OIC-COMSTECH, in recognition of Dr. Fayyaz's significant contributions to scientific research. Her achievement was celebrated during a special ceremony at the summit

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), congratulated Dr. Fayyaz, calling her award an honor for her, the Dr. Panjwani Center, and all of Pakistan.

He highlighted that the National Institute of Virology is actively working on innovative diagnostic tools and research to strengthen public health in the country. This award underscores the quality of research being conducted in Pakistan and its potential to address global challenges.

The Kazan Global Youth Summit 2025 focused on "Education of Personality in the Era of Global Changes: Values-based Career Development," bringing together young leaders and researchers from around the world to discuss pressing global issues and the importance of value-driven career paths.
