8/28/2025

Heavy rain and potential flooding can be scary, especially when you live in areas near rivers. But there's good news: the Punjab Police are on the ground, working tirelessly to protect you and your loved ones.
Inspector General of Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, has put the entire police force on high alert. Their mission is clear: to be your first line of defense during this time of heavy rainfall and potential floods.
What the Police Are Doing to Keep You Safe
The police aren't just waiting for a disaster to happen; they're taking action now. Here’s a look at what they’re doing to help:
Active Rescues & Evacuations: Police teams are working side by side with other rescue agencies to move people and animals from areas at risk—such as villages near rivers and streams—to safe locations.
Always on Watch: Officers in flood-prone districts, such as Kasur, Okara, Pakpattan, Vehari, and Multan, are staying extra vigilant. With more rain on the way, they are ready to respond to any emergency right away.
Leaders on the Front Line: Senior officers are personally overseeing all relief efforts. They are making sure that police, district officials, and other rescue teams are working together seamlessly to help everyone in need.
Constant Patrols: Police rescue teams are regularly patrolling villages along riverbanks to monitor the situation and provide immediate help if needed.
Support for Flood Victims: They are making sure that people who have been displaced by the floods have a safe place to go. This includes providing security and aid at relief camps, and making sure that victims have access to shelter, food, medicine, and other essential supplies.
IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has made it very clear that protecting citizens' lives and property is the top priority. The police are dedicated to standing "shoulder to shoulder" with other departments to provide rescue, relief, and rehabilitation services for everyone affected.
How You Can Help
The police are doing their part, and you can do yours! It's important to stay informed and follow their advice. Pay attention to warnings, and if you live in a low-lying area, please cooperate with police and other officials during evacuation efforts. Your safety is what matters most.
Stay safe, and know that the Punjab Police are on the job, working around the clock to ensure your security.
