In a significant and historic development, Pakistan and Armenia have officially established diplomatic relations for the very first time. This major step is being seen as a new chapter for Pakistan's foreign policy.
The formal agreement was made during a meeting in China between Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, and Armenia's Foreign Minister, Ararat Mirzoyan
By starting this new relationship, both countries have promised to work together on many important things, including:
Trade: Finding new ways to do business with each other.
Education: Creating opportunities for students and universities to cooperate.
Culture and Tourism: Promoting travel and cultural exchange.
Both nations have also agreed to support each other on a global scale to promote peace and progress
This breakthrough is especially significant because of Pakistan's long-standing support for Azerbaijan in its conflict with Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. For decades, Pakistan did not formally recognize Armenia and always stood with Azerbaijan.
However, a recent peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan has created a new opportunity. According to experts, this agreement has opened the door for Pakistan to start a new relationship with Armenia without harming its strong ties with Azerbaijan. This move shows that Pakistan is ready to adjust its foreign policy to build more friendships and promote peace in the region
