KARACHI: Police have registered a case against three staff members of a private school in the Saddar area after a 25-year-old employee allegedly took his own life by jumping from the building’s eighth floor.
The tragic incident occurred on September 1 within the jurisdiction of Brigade Police Station. The deceased, identified as Usman, reportedly left a note on social media directly accusing three colleagues of mental harassment before his death.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), filed by Usman’s brother, the young man left home for work at around 8:15 am. Less than an hour later, at 9:35 am, he received a phone call informing him that Usman’s condition had worsened and he was being taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
Upon reaching the hospital, the complainant learned that Usman had fallen from the school’s eighth floor at approximately 8:45 am. By the time he arrived at the emergency ward, Usman had already passed away.
Shortly before the incident, Usman reportedly posted a final note on social media blaming three staff members — Irfan, Hassan, and Talha — for mental torture, saying their alleged harassment drove him to take the extreme step.
Police confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused under Sections 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and 322 (punishment for manslaughter) of the Pakistan Penal Code. Investigations into the incident are underway
