Heavy rains and widespread flooding are once again causing travel disruptions across Pakistan. Pakistan Railways has announced the temporary suspension of two key train services, impacting hundreds of daily commuters and travelers.
Pak Business Express: Citing a sharp decrease in passenger numbers due to the severe weather, the Pak Business Express was called off today.
Shah Hussain Express: The Shah Hussain Express has been suspended for the next four days and is expected to resume its regular schedule on September 6, 2025.
To minimize inconvenience for ticket holders, Pakistan Railways has made alternative arrangements:
Pak Business Express passengers will be accommodated on the Karakoram Express.
Shah Hussain Express passengers will be shifted to the Green Line Express.
The railway spokesperson has urged all travelers to stay in touch with local reservation offices for the latest updates and assistance.
Despite the current challenges, Pakistan Railways is focused on future improvements. In a recent meeting in Lahore, chaired by Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi and attended by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, a new dedicated train service between Islamabad and Rawalpindi was approved.
This new project is expected to significantly improve local travel for daily commuters in the Twin Cities, offering a reliable and convenient transport option.
